HOUSTON COUNTY:   On Wednesday Andrew Bradley West ( allegedly ) apparently made a decision. That decision was, when the Houston County Sheriff Deputy behind him activated his blue lights West apparently activated his foot on the accelerator.

It was kinda like Roscoe P. Coletrain and Dukes of Hazard.

However, the Houston County Sheriff Deputies were a lot smarter than Roscoe, and West was not as smart as Bo and Luke.

The chase took them out Denton Road. As they approached the Houston and Dale County line, Dale County Deputies were rolling. Then West decided his odds might be better in Dothan, so he turned around.

West traveled on Ross Clark Circle to Twitchell. Then West traveled to Wilson Street, then Range Street, then Webb Road. He headed towards Ross Clark Circle. West went through Ross Clark Circle and made a turn to the right at the City of Dothan landfill. West was not good on the turn and crashed. West took off out of the car and fled on foot.

West was driving a Mercedes that was stolen from a shop in Hartford. Reports are he had been driving the car for about a week.

Houston County Sheriff Deputies got K-9’s and within a few minutes, with a combined effort of the Sheriff Department, Dothan Police and Alabama Department of Law Enforcement - Troopers, Andrew Bradley West was taken into custody.

Houston County Sheriff Deputies booked West into the Houston County Jail. West racked up Attempt to Elude, Driving on the Wrong Side of the Road, Fail to Stop at Stop Sign - five counts, Fail to Stop when Emerging from a Driveway, Reckless Driving and Running a Red Light.

In addition, West was charged with Burglary 3rd, Theft of Property 1st - two counts.

West was already on bond for Theft of Property 1st, Burglary 3rd, Receiving Stolen Property, two counts of Assault in the first degree. West has a 2015 Theft of Property in the second degree. In 2011 West had two counts of Possession of Marijuana.

West was the one involved in the accident on Rice Road involving a UPS Truck. West is alleged to have stolen a truck from Run Away RV and a four wheeler from Dothan Powersports. West is alleged to have broken into Grandview Baptist Church. And he is alleged to have stole the Mercedes from Geneva County.

At age 24, West has been very active in securing him room and board, three meals a day, and no freedom for an extended period of time.

Twentieth Judicial Circuit District Attorney Doug Valeska has or is filing motions to revoke bonds on West on charges he was already on bond for.

The cases before Grand Jury are assigned to Houston County District Court Judge Benjamin Lewis. After Grand Jury and should there be an indictment, the Circuit Court cases are assigned to 20th Judicial Circuit Court Judge Mike Conaway.

Until then, Andrew Bradley West residence will be 901 East Main Street, the Houston County Jail.
