HOUSTON COUNTY:     On October 16, 2005 a nightmare started for Courtney Michelle Tingle.

Dothan Police Criminal Investigator Keith Cook arrested Tingle for Burglary in the Third Degree.

The allegations in the complaint signed by Investigator Keith Cook, Tingle was accused that on or about September 20, 2015, knowingly enter or remain unlawfully in a building of 202 Plantation Drive wit the intent to commit a crime therein, theft.

Tingle was arrested placed in the Dothan City Jail. After being processed, because it was a felony offense, Tingle was transported to the Houston County Jail where she made bail in the amount of $ 15,000.00.

The Honorable Benjamin Lewis, Houston County District Court Judge, appointed Shaun McGhee of Smith and McGhee Law Firm to represent Tingle in the criminal case.

The January term of a Houston County Grand Jury indicted Tingle of Burglary 3rd degree.

NOTE:   Grand Jury is the biggest joke and con the legal system has ever created. It is a scam and should be abolished. It is a waste of time and a ham sandwich could get indicted. It is a group of 18 people who hear one side of a story. The foreperson is suppose to be in charge but it is run by a District Attorney. So being indicted by a Grand Jury is really easy and simple, and should be abolished. Enough of my soap box.

Following the indictment, the felony case was transferred to 20th Judicial Circuit Court Judge Butch Binford. The case was called for trial by a jury of 12 peers on Monday in Houston County Circuit Court.

Attorney Shaun McGhee ( 334-702-1744 ) represented Tingle. The state through Investigator Keith Cook and other witnesses worked to convict Tingle. Attorney Shaun McGhee held their feet to the fire making them prove their case. And they could not prove the case.

The jury of 12 peers selected, in only about 30 minutes of deliberation following the trial, found Courtney Michelle Tingle NOT GUILTY of the offense charged.

Honorable Circuit Court Judge Butch Binford released Courtney Michelle Tingle free, and declared her NOT GUILTY after the unanimous verdict of the jury.

Attorney Shaun McGhee is a private practice attorney in the firm of Smith and McGhee on West Main next to Justice Park ( 334-702-1744). He is also a contract attorney in the courtroom of Judge Butch Binford. When persons can not afford to employ an attorney and are found to be indigent, McGhee is on contract to represent those persons.

Tingle was a court appointed client of McGhee.

McGhee and his partner Tom Smith also represent clients on private basis where the public hires them. Their practice, while focused in criminal matters, is also in domestic, civil and other areas of the law.
