On November 12, 2014 the Dothan Police Department closed a month long investigation involving three individuals, responsible for the burglary of an apartment and the use of credit cards taken during the crime.
Investigators say on September 10, 2014, Terrence Thompson and Orlando Mason entered an unsecured door of an apartment in the 3000 block of Flynn Road and took a credit card belonging to the victim before leaving. Thompson and Mason were joined by a third individual, Keith Murray, who accompanied them to multiple businesses in Dothan where the credit card was used to make purchases totaling over $400.00.
Investigators say they obtained security video of two of the individuals making purchases at one of the businesses. Images of those individuals were released to the public for assistance in identifying them. Using tips from the public, investigator received information which led to Thompson and Murray being identified. Thompson and Mason were taken into custody on October 23, 2014. Both were charged with one count of fraudulent use of a credit card, while Thompson was also charged with third degree burglary.
Murray was taken into custody on November 12, 2014 and was charged with eight counts of Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card.
- Orlando Eric Mason, black male, 27 years of age, of Glenwood Street was arrested and charged with Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card. A bond has been set at $15,000.00.
- Terrence James Thompson, black male, 33 years of age, of Glenwood Street was arrested and charged with third degree Burglary and Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card. Bonds have been set and total $25,000.00.
- Keith Murray, black male, 29 years of age, of South Bell Street was arrested and charged with eight counts of Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card. Bonds have been set and total $60,000.00.
