Dothan, Ala – On Monday, December 1st the formal swearing in oath of office ceremony for recently re-elected State Senator for District 29,Harri Anne Smith will be held at the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce.


Senator Harri Anne Smith stated “Serving the people of Houston, Geneva and Dale Counties is truly the passion of my life, and I am humbled by those who instill their faith and trust in me to represent them with an honest independent voice in Montgomery. The next four years will represent a tremendous opportunity for the Wiregrass to grow, and with the loving support of my wonderful family, and the voters of District 29, I am eager to continue the fight to make our communities even more competitive in the face of the challenges around us.”


District 29 incorporates areas in Houston, Geneva and Dale Counties. On Tuesday, November 4th voters from this district made history when they re-elected Independent Sen. Smith by a comfortable 53-47 point margin to continue serving them in the legislature. No other Independent has ever been elected to serve two consecutive terms in Alabama history.
