A 2000 Peterbuilt truck, driven by David Allan Ellis, was traveling North on U.S. 29 (Century Blvd.) in the outside lane in Escambia County. Ellis stated that he had the window open and un unknown object flew into his eye forcing him to lose control of his log truck. The truck left the roadway and went into a drainage ditch on the East part of the grass shoulder and came to rest when the front of the truck collided with trees. The log truck had no cargo at the time of the crash. The driver of the truck escaped the crash with no injuries.
