OCSO Investigating Discovery of Body near Baker

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an apparent homicide after
discovering the body of a white male on a parcel of private property off Old River Road
near Baker today.



The OCSO was working a joint investigation with the Crestview Police Department
into a missing person report filed with the CPD over the weekend. They developed
information that the individual may be located on property near a wooded area off Old
River Road. Investigators searched the area with the assistance of a K9 Unit from
Okaloosa Correctional Institution and today found the body of a man who appeared to be
the victim of a shooting.



A positive identification has not been made at this time.
No additional details are currently available, but investigators are working several
leads in connection with the case and more information will be released in the near
future.
