A man believed to be from Henry County is dead after a confrontation with an Early County Sheriff's Deputy this afternoon.
It happened around 1 p.m. Eastern time outside Jerry's Meats and Groceries on Highland Avenue in Arlington, Georgia.
According to The Early County News the store's owner, Jerry Scarborough said the victim who has not been identified had been in the store several times before.
Scarborough called authorities today after the man got into a confrontation with employees.
When the Deputy arrived on the scene the victim was allegedly parked in the middle of the road with his emergency lights on.
Witnesses stated the man attacked the deputy when he approached him. Early County Sheriff Price state the man had been reported to authorities multiple times over recent weeks.
Arlington Police Chief said his officers had stopped the man a few days ago, but had no reason to arrest him.
The car he was in had a Henry County Alabama license plate. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is looking into the incident.
