DOTHAN – Officials from the City of Dothan, Commercial Jet Services, LLC, Alabama Industrial Development Training and the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce announced today they are launching a new aircraft pre-employment training program called CJET Academy. CJET Academy will provide citizens with the opportunity to gain new skills in aircraft structure assembly training and a career with Commercial Jet. The online application process starts today, Sept. 8, on AIDT’s website www.aidt.edu/jobs. The deadline to submit an online application is
Sept. 22, 2014.

If individuals are selected, they will receive a letter in the mail via USPS mail that will outline necessary steps to complete for consideration into the training program. Participants who complete the academy classes will be guaranteed a job with Commercial Jet with a starting pay of $14.
"With Aircraft MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) business expanding, this is a great time to join the commercial aviation industry,” said David M. Sandri, president of Commercial Jet Services, LLC.

Dothan Mayor Mike Schmitz added, "An important role of economic development is the connection of individuals with a business who wants to hire local people who need jobs. I’m very proud of the work that has been done to connect these two groups and provide the necessary training so that
both will succeed."The training program is scheduled to begin Monday, Oct. 22, and graduate Friday, Dec. 19, 2014.

Selected trainees will attend class during the day, five-days a week, eight-hours a day, 40-hours per week for eight weeks. There’s no cost to the trainees for the training program and all training materials will be provided, including training manuals and tools.
