HOUSTON COUNTY: The Houston County County Commission held their Administrative Meeting at 10 AM. The regular meeting is 10 AM on Tuesday.
Monday is a holiday.
While eating breakfast I was addressed by volunteer fireman, based on a news article by Houston County Commissioner Brandon Shoupe, concerning the new radios. The fireman was perplexed because Commissioner Shoupe said the he had arranged where Houston County was saving $ 14,000.00.
I told the fireman that was the first that I had heard of it and would check. And I did.
Shoupe told WDHN on camera that he had worked and saved Houston County over $ 14,000.00 on the radio purchase. And I was thinking "good job Brandon".
But when the fact check started, the actual truth was the savings was around $ 700.00 and not as Brandon indicated being $ 14,000.00.
This morning I addressed the Houston County Commission. The Financial Administrator was absent. And Chairman Culver, who has is an habitual liar, said he did not know the figure and the Financial Administrator was not there.
Shoupe spoke up that it was based on figures given to him. Neither corrected the figures even though I submit to you they knew the correct and truthful answer.
But today Culver nor Shoupe corrected the misinformation that Brandon Shoupe said on camera. Shoupe then wanted to address my news articles from yesterday where I called him out on it. It was Houston County Commission Chairman Mark Culver that stopped Shoupe, not Rickey Stokes. I was ready for anything Brandon wanted to say.
Following the meeting Brandon went on his Facebook that I did a fast exit because I did not want him on camera. And that I was mad because he would not support me for Dothan - Houston County Emergency Management Director.
First I did not run from Brandon Shoupe. My office is located at 109 East Adams and whenever he wants he can come by and I will turn the camera on and he can say whatever he wants to about me. Or he can me at 334-790-1729 and I will meet him, turn the camera on and let him say whatever he wants about me. Or he can call Matt at 334-714-8302 and he will meet you and turn the camera on and he can say anything he wants about me.
But it was Mark Culver that shut Brandon Shoupe up not Rickey Stokes.
NEXT
If I am wrong Brandon that your comments about saving the people of Houston County the sum of over $ 14,000.00 on the radio purchases, PROVE IT and I will kiss your buttocks at the next Houston County Commission Meeting. PROVE that you did not lie to the people on camera and the figures you submitted are not accurate.
Next, if you will check the 56 applicants for Dothan - Houston County Emergency Management Director you will not find a application on Rickey Stokes. So your yes or no vote does not matter, because I did not apply. I had rather point out you being a liar to the public than being your employee.
Next, you did say you would not vote for me. But you were not given the opportunity either way because I did not apply.
So I am not mad at you because you don’t have the chance to vote for me. In fact, I am not mad at you at all. Really you are insignificant to me.
But what is significant, is you going on camera and not telling the public the truth.
