DOTHAN:   “One of the finest men which GOD placed on this earth” has passed away.

The family, Dothan Police and the citizens of Dothan lost Mark Foster a Dothan Police Officer this morning. His death is a result of natural causes and was at his house in Dothan.

Many will remember Officer Mark Foster as one of the officer’s which rode one of the Harley Davidson Police Motorcycles for the Dothan Police Department. He was born and raised in Dothan and graduated from Dothan City Schools.

Dothan Police Officer Mark Foster is one of the few people you never hear anything negative about. Officer Foster was assigned to the Traffic Division of Dothan Police Department. He did his job professionally, with dedication  and respect for the public.

Mark Foster loved his wife and family. In his off time they could often times were found together at the lake. In Mark’s life his family was first.

Dothan Police Chief Greg Benton describes Officer Mark Foster as “he was as fine a man as God had put on this earth”.

Officer Foster has a brother, Jeff, who is a Paramedic with Dothan Fire Department. His father is Emory Foster who was a long time sales manager with Dothan Buick Company His mother passed away several years ago.

Just yesterday at the fire on Torino Drive Officer Foster was on the scene blocking traffic. We spoke for a few minutes on the scene, not knowing this would be the last time we would ever see each other.

Please keep Officer Foster’s wife, children, dad and brother in your prayers and the members of the Dothan Police Department in the sudden loss of Mark Foster.
