One Vehicle Rollover in Samson

Early Saturday morning, around 1:30, a firefighter called into 34 Central and advised them he had heard about a vehicle that was overturned on the driver’s side. He also advised that the accident location was near the Alabama State Highway 153 and Alabama State Highway 52 intersection. 34 Central quickly dispatched Samson Volunteer Fire Department, Samson Volunteer Rescue Squad, and Flat Creek Volunteer Fire Department. Samson Police Officers Chirs Miranda, Jeff Moring, Bill Owens, Keith Shehee, Paul Thurston, and Cory Dean. When officers arrived on scene, they could not find anyone in the vehicle. Officers searched nearby woods, thinking the subject had possibly been ejected. After searching for a few minutes, it was discovered that the driver of the vehicle had fled the scene. It is unknown why the driver fled the scene. The accident is under investigation by the Alabama State Troopers.
