From now until August 3rd, online forum community WiregrassLive is holding a "Tools for Schools" Supply Drive for underprivileged children at four schools in Houston County and Dothan.  Local businesses are hosting drop off points throughout the city of Dothan.

Dothan, Alabama July 24, 2012 --  Facing the reality that many school children will show up at area schools on the first day of school without the most basic of school supplies, online forum WiregrassLive.com's members are holding a "Tools for Schools" Supply Drive.   WiregrassLive.com will provide most commonly-requested supplies, focusing on the basics.  Supplies collected will be distributed to four of Dothan and Houston County's schools after the drive ends on August 3rd.

Virtual community WiregrassLive.com realized that there are many children in the Wiregrass whose families simply cannot provide the basic tools for school success.  "So many children will simply show up in classrooms lacking the very basics - pens, pencils, paper and crayons," said WiregrassLive moderator Debbie Trueblood.   "These children don't have the ability to buy these on their own.  We plan to give them  the very basic items through our "Tools for Schools" supply drive."

In order to provide as many children as possible an equal chance at a quality education, WiregrassLive has placed brightly-decorated collection boxes in six locations in the Dothan area.  After reviewing the most wanted school supply lists provided by guidance counselors and teachers in area schools,  the list was narrowed down to the items most often requested at all schools.  The details and list are provided on the WiregrassLive website http://www.wiregrasslive.com as well as the collection points.

On August 3rd, the school supplies will be collected then divided up and distributed to the four area schools guidance counselors and teachers.  Please donate a few dollars' worth of school supplies so that our area school children will all have the basic "Tools for School".
