What is going on?
Dale – Geneva County District Attorney Kirke Adams and Houston – Henry County District Attorney Doug Valeska are host to over 200 law enforcement officers continuing education ckass.

By law, law enforcement officers are required so many continuing education hours each year. Agencies spends thousand of tax payer dollars sending these officers to school Adams and Valeska designed this seminar to educate the officers to better serve the public, allow them to get their continuing education, and save the taxpayers money by hosting it local.

This seminar idea came after the incident in Geneva County where a gunman wnt on a shooting rampage. Officers were called to action in seconds notice. Their actions stopped the gunman. It took cooperation from multiple agencies.
Adams and Valeska, realizing the importance of multi agency cooperation, brought the some 40 agencies together today in one local environment to learn and network together. The agencies include Houston, Henry, Dale, Coffee, Covington, Crenshaw, Montgomery and Pike County. Municipalities also from each of the listed counties.
Instrumental in the preparation of this seminar – Dale and Geneva County Assistant District Attorneys Stephen Smith and Bill Filmore, Dale County Victim’s Service officer Amarylis Benefield, Geneva County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Tony Helms, Houston County Victim’s Service Officers Brandi Cole and Marci Etheridge, and Leona Jensen – Administrative Assistant with Geneva County District Attorney’s Office.
