HOUSTON COUNTY: At 11:18 AM Houston County 911 dispatched multiple police fire and EMS to a motor vehicle accident, 20718 U.S. Highway 84 in Gordon, vehicle verses deer, female laying in roadway.
Gordon Police Chief Mike Benton wsa the first law enforcement on the scene.
The accident involved a SUV, overturned, with four ejections from the vehicle. The vehicle was occupied by 5 persons, three adults and two children. Four of the adults were ejected.
Responding to the scene along with Gordon Police, Houston County Sheriff Deputy Lt. Ladon Joyner, Deputy Brunson and Brodmerkel, and Alabama State Trooper Rodgers. Fire responding to the scene was Gordon Volunteer Fire and Lucy Volunteer Fire. EMS responding was Ashford Rscue and Pilcher’s Ambulance.
Knight Wrecker Service responded to the scene.
The accident location was revised on old U.S. Highway 84, between the Bonfire Club and Highway 95 South. The accident was reported to have been caused by a deer running out in front of the Expedition.
Alabama State Trooper Rodgers is in charge of the scene investigation.
