Panhandle Converter and Scrap Co. Purchases

DOTHAN, Ala. – Joseph T. Donovan, president and CEO of Panhandle Converter and Scrap Co., announced today the company will be expanding their business operations in Dothan, Ala. "We have been blessed with continued growth and opportunities since we first located in Dothan. Today’s announcement will provide us with the facilities and space we need to continue our growth plans," said Donovan.
Panhandle Converter and Scrap Co. will purchase the former Dunbarton Corp. building located on Murray Road, which will provide approximately 120,000 square feet of space, access to rail and 14 acres that will support the company’s future growth in their catalyst recycling division. Panhandle is concurrently opening nine acres adjoining their non-ferrous recycling division on Beverlye Road to expand their operations into the purchase and processing of recyclable ferrous materials such as structural steel, scrap appliances and automobiles. The scrap metals division will now be known as Panhandle Scrap and Iron.
Chief Operating Officer Lyle Peluso Jr. stated, "We are very pleased to see this expansion take place and our company wants to get the word out to the community that we are actively seeking motivated applicants. During his remarks, Peluso acknowledged his thanks on behalf of the company to the City of Dothan, Houston County, Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce, Alabama Industrial
Development Training, Alabama Development Office, Alabama Department of Revenue and the Industrial Development Board of the City of Dothan for all the great assistance in securing incentives, support and services to help the business grow.
