On September 19, 2014 the Houston County Sheriff’s Office charged Justin Duane Dannels a 25 year male of Pansey, Al., with two counts of Rendering a False Alarm and was given a $6,000.00 bond on each charge.
The Houston County Sheriff’s Office investigation led to evidence of a call that had been reported on August 16, 2014 near, the intersection of County Rd. 81 and beck Rd. involving an ATV striking a small child, which led to a rapid response by surrounding agencies, Alabama State Troopers, Dale County Sheriff’s Office, (air support) as well as fire and rescue workers from surrounding towns. A five hour search was conducted within a sixty mile radius and no evidence of the accident was discovered. This call was determined to be a false call.
On September 14, 2014 the Houston County Sheriff’s Office received a medical emergency call on Middleton Rd. Hodgesville, Al. which proved to be another false report and evidence led to the same caller that had made the false report related to the ATV striking a small child on August 16, 2014 was the same individual.
The Houston County Sheriff’s Office will investigate all reports and any report determined to be purposely reported falsely will be prosecuted to the fullest and restitution requested.
