Pedestrian was killed after Being Struck by a Vehicle

DOTHAN POST – A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Alabama 55. The crash occurred at approximately 10:05 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, three miles north of Andalusia.  Richard Lee Swinson, 40,  of Red Level was hit and killed by a 1996 Nissan truck by John D. Chandler, 45, of Red Level. Swinson was pronounced dead at the scene.  Chandler was not injured. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
