DADEVILLE -- One person is dead and another critically injured after a Tuesday plane crash in Tallapoosa County.

A single-engine Beach Bonanza went down southeast of Dadeville city limits near Slaughters Crossing and Stave Mill roads, according to Tallapoosa Sheriff Jimmy Abbett.

The injured person was airlifted to a hospital in Columbus.

Authorities have secured the scene and are waiting for investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation and Safety Board to arrive.

NOTE:   The aircraft took off from the Enterprise Airport this morning on a trip to South Carolina. The plane had two persons on board. There has been one confirmed fatality and the other has been transported to the hospital in Columbus.

The plane is reported to be a single prop Bonanza aircraft that would seat six persons.
