Police Shoot suspect in Covington County

This afternoon the Alabama State Bureau of Investigations are looking into an officer involved shooting that took place in Covington County.


Alabama Law Enforcement Agency spokesman Kevin Cook state that the incident happened near the Sanford community on U.S. Highway 84. Reports are the suspect pulled a firearm on the officers.


The officer involved was not injured, according to Opp Police Chief.


One subject was reportedly airlifted to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida. O more information is available at this time.
