DOTHAN: An ABC Enforcement agent stopped a vehicle about a broken tail light, the agent was just going to tell him to get it fixed and let him go with a warning. The driver of the white SUV had other ideas and took off. The agent got behind him and the chase was on. The chase stared and north Park and Osceola and went down Osceola to Green tree where the vehicle took a corner to fast and took out a brick column and a fence. The driver then bailed from the vehicle and ran on foot. The agent pulled up and went to check the vehicle and found two small children in the back seat strapped in.
The driver a black male ran behind a house and threw a gun down and kept running. The agent could leave the children unattended so the suspect did get away for now. They know who he is and will be seeing him again. The children were checked out by fire medics but were not injured. A search of the vehicle did turn up some drugs, which was taken into evidence and is off the streets.
The ABC Agent was assisted by units from the Houston County Sheriff’s Officer and Dothan Police.
