Possession Of A Lottery Ticket In Alabama Could Become A Felony

MONTGOMERY:   Do not declare you are a winner of the Florida or Georgia lottery while in Alabama. Get out of Alabama FIRST!!!

Under legislation introduced by Bob Riley’s former team member now Senator Bryan Taylor, and endorsed by Dale County Representative Steve Clouse, Geneva County Representative Donnie Chasteen and Houston County Representative Paul Lee,  the mere possession of a Florida and/or Georgia lottery ticket could cause you a Class C felony in the State of Alabama.

The Senate Bill Number 3, the brain child of Riley’s former boy, Senator Bryan Taylor, and House Bill 414, endorsed by Lee, Chasteen and Clouse, would make it a felony and your ticket, vehicle, earnings and other things subject to seizure by law enforcement.

The legislation was drafted hours after the verdict in the bingo trials. When the NOT GUILTY verdicts were read, in which Riley, Strange and others were present for, this legislation was being drafted making the possession of gambling devices or records a felony instead rather than a misdemeanor.

A felony where the punishment is not less than 2 years in the Alabama State Penitentiary and no more than 10 years  in the Alabama State Penitentiary.

And you do not have to be a winner. Just mere possession of a lottery ticket is possession of gambling  record.  That would make the offense a felony.

Senator Taylor thinks he is the gate keeper for the citizens and should make the decision rather than letting the people vote on electronic bingo. Representative Paul Lee has not realized that he can draft legislation to allow the people of the State of Alabama to vote on legislation on electronic bingo. Neither has Representative Steve Clouse of Donnie Chasteen.

When I asked Representative Paul Lee about legislation letting the people vote, he said no bill has been proposed. My question is, propose one. However, right now Lee is caught up with Speaker of the House Mike Hubbard who does exactly what Bob Riley wants.

I do not play the lottery. I do not play the machines. But I have confidence in voters and it make sme furious the elected so called leaders have zero confidence in the voters.

Former Alabama Governor Bob Riley created a monopoly for the Indians. The Taylor/Lee/Clouse/Chasteen legislation maintains that monopoly for the Indians. All the while the people of Alabama are not afforded the opportunity to vote.

As to Alabama Governor Robert Bentley. He came to Dobb’s BBQ and said he thought the people of this state needed to vote on this issue. He then went to the Dothan Country Club and accepted thousands of dollars in campaign donations from those opposed of electronic bingo. Governor Bentley has not fulfilled that comment since he accepted the thousands of dollars in campaign contributions.

When he was in Dothan a few months ago I personally handed Governor Bentley an envelope at the Houston County Administrative tour which contained a copy of the DVD of what he said at Dobb’s and he placed it in his pocket. Along with it was a memo that read in part to do what he promised the people. I asked Governor Bentley to read this while he was on the plane traveling back to Montgomery. He has never responded, and as usual has become one of the politicians that will tell lies to get elected.
