Today, at approximately 3:12PM, Officers with the Enterprise Police Department responded to an accident with injuries on Plaza Drive at the intersection of Wallace Drive. Witnesses at the scene stated that the driver of a 2007 Saturn Ion attempted to turn left onto Plaza Drive and failed to yield the right of way to an oncoming semi-truck that was traveling south on Plaza. The Saturn was struck on the driver’s side. Emergency personnel with the Enterprise Fire Department and the Enterprise Rescue Squad had to extricate both the driver and the front seat passenger from the vehicle before they were transported to South East Alabama Medical Center in Dothan by Ft. Rucker Flatiron helicopter.  The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.
