On December 23, 2012 the Dothan Police Department responded to an armed robbery (attempt) at Fortner Street Convenience Store, located at 1112 Fortner Street at 8:06 p.m. Upon arrival, police learned a black male armed with a handgun entered the store and demanded cash. The cashier immediately pressed the panic switch at which time the suspect fled north on South Park Avenue. The suspect was described as a black male wearing a dark colored hooded jacket and jeans, approximately 5’10” to 6’01” tall and weighing possibly 180 to 220 pounds.
Moments later, at 8:22 p.m. police responded to an armed robbery at Citgo Food-Mart located at 1814 South Oates Street. Upon arrival, police learned a black male armed with a handgun entered the store and demanded cash. The cashier complied with the suspects’ demands after which the suspect fled west on Hillman Street. The description of the suspect was the same leading police to believe both acts were committed by the same suspect.
Police are asking anyone with information about the case or identity of the suspect to call the Dothan Police Department or CrimeStoppers 334-793-7000.
