Press Release Two deaths in Holmes County

Today, June 21, 2012 Holmes County dispatch received a 911 call at approximately 9:02 a.m. indicating that a man had shot his wife.  Holmes County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the residence at 2702 Tup McWaters Road and discovered a Holmes County couple dead inside their home due to apparent gunshot wounds.  Investigators also responded from Florida Dept. of Law Enforcement, the State’s Attorney’s Office and the Medical Examiner’s Office. The deceased couple has been identified as Tammie Renae Coatney (41) and her husband Billy Ray Coatney (47).  At this time the incident appears to be a murder/suicide; however the investigation is continuing.
