On 2-11-15 at approximately 10:05 p.m. an Officer with the Graceville Police Department clocked a vehicle on radar traveling 55 MPH in a posted 25 MPH zone on College St. in the city. As the officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle, the driver turned eastbound on Hwy 2 and accelerated.

The officer notified the Sheriff’s Office of the situation and a deputy was able to clock the suspect vehicle traveling at 102 MPH in a 55 MPH zone in the area of Finn Rd. and Hwy 2.

A pursuit ensued, during which the suspect failed to obey the traffic signal at Hwy 2 and Hwy 231. He continued eastbound on Hwy 2 until he reached Avery Rd. where he turned north. He then turned back westbound on Canniehead Rd. and traveled approximately ½ mile at which time he fled the vehicle on foot, leaving it rolling down the road.

After the vehicle rolled into a deep ditch and stopped, the pursuing deputy discovered an 11 year-old girl in the front passenger’s seat, unharmed. The 11 year-old, who is a relative of the suspect, advised the officer that the driver was Dave Bostic. A short time later Bostic was seen walking away from the area nonchalantly.

A homeowner in the area pointed out that Bostic had kicked in her back door and entered the residence without permission and she identified him as the person walking away from the area. Bostic was detained and placed under arrest. A subsequent check revealed that he had two active warrants for grand theft auto. The homeowner declined to press charges for him entering her home.
