Racial Graffiti in Walton County

DeFuniak Springs, FL (November 2, 2009) –

 

Walton County Sheriff’s investigators are looking for clues to who may have carved a racial epitaph on the front door of a DeFuniak Springs area home. A Passion Flower Street resident and her son returned home at around 12:45 Saturday morning after going to the movies in Destin.

 

The homeowner called the Walton County Sheriff’s Office to report that someone had carved “KKK” in the front door of their house. The victim reported that she had left the home around three o’clock Friday afternoon, and that the incident occurred sometime over the nearly ten-hour period.

 

At this time, authorities are looking for clues’ to who may have committed the criminal mischief which could be classified as a “hate” crime.
