The Houston County Sheriff's Office received information in the first week of November 2009 of possible sexual assault charges on a teenage female that had been occurring since June 2005 through July 2009 in Ashford, Al.

           The Houston County Sheriff's Office investigation showed evidence that William Wayne Crooms a 38 year old male of Cottonwood, Al., had committed the sexual assault charges over the past four years against the teenage female.

           William Wayne Crooms was charged with 10 counts of Rape 2nd, 3 counts of Sodomy 2nd and 10 counts of Incest. William Crooms was transported to the Houston County Jail and is being held on bonds totaling $540,000.00.

            The Houston County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Houston County Department of Human Resources (DHR) and the Child Advocacy Center (CAC).
