Reafield Vester Named to the State Department of Agriculture and Industries Board

DOTHAN: This afternoon a press conference was held to announce that Reafield Vester was named to the Alabama State Department of Agriculture and Industries Board on May 12, 2015 by appointment of Governor Robert Bentley and by Alabama State Senate confirmation. He will serve on the eight member board as a representative for the Wiregrass. Mr. Vester's term will run concurrent with Gov. Robert Bentley's term in office which concludes January 2019. State Sen. Harri Anne Smith (I-Slocomb and State Rep. Paul Lee (R-Dothan) nominated Mr. Vester, a Dothan native, due to his more than 35-years of service to area farmers as a county extension agent.
"Reafield Vester is a good man and the right person to represent Wiregrass farmers and Business' on the Alabama State Department Board of Agriculture and Industries. We appreciate Governor Bentley recognizing this and appreciate Reafield's continued service to the community," said Senator Smith and Representative Lee in a joint- statement. The goal of the Department of Agriculture and Industries is to serve the farmers and consumers of this state to the best of its ability. Additionally, the Department of Agriculture and Industries personnel work hard every day to increase consumer confidence in the safety of Alabama's food supply.
