Recent Vehicle Burglaries in Marianna

On 06/19/2014 and 06/20/2014 the Marianna Police Department received numerous reports of vehicle burglaries that had occurred in the area of Jefferson St, Broad St, Market St and Lafayette St. These burglaries occurred between the hours of 5pm and 7pm during the day light hours several items taken including a firearm. The vehicles were reported to have been left unlocked allowing easy access to the vehicles. If you see anyone suspicious in the downtown are we urge you to call the Marianna Police Department. We would also caution you if you see something or someone suspicious please do not confront them get a good description and direction of travel and call the Police.
The Marianna Police Department is urging citizens to make sure your vehicles are locked, even if you are only stepping away for a moment. It only takes a second to check that your vehicle is locked. Also, please double check to make sure your windows are up all the way and valuables have been removed from your vehicle. If you do leave valuables in your vehicle make sure they are not in plain view for you to become an easy target. At this time the Marianna Police Department has no suspects or positive description of the unknown persons or person involved.
