RIVER REGION ORGANIZATIONS JOIN FORCES FOR MEDICARE PART D EVENT

The Cancer Wellness Foundation of Central Alabama is partnering with other area organizations to help Medicare recipients make sure they have appropriate prescription drug coverage.

 

On November 9 and 10, seniors will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with representatives who will help them “shop” the best healthcare and prescription coverage to suit their specific situations. Volunteers from Wellness Foundation, Junior League of Montgomery and the Central Alabama Aging Consortium will assess individual needs, use computer technology to explore the options, and present seniors with their best coverage plans. The Montgomery Area Council on Aging will also be on hand to educate seniors about other programs and services available to them.

 

Jennifer Hoover, coordinator of the event for the Cancer Wellness Foundation says, “Because the mission of the Wellness Foundation is to assist cancer patients in need, we are appealing to Medicare recipients who have cancer or other serious illnesses to attend this event. Cancer survivors and others who take expensive medications on a regular basis will benefit from this prescription insurance check-up as well.”

 

Call 334-273-2279 to reserve time to talk with a counselor from 9 am to 3 pm on Friday, November 9^th or from 9 am to 1 pm on Saturday, November 10^th. The Cancer Wellness Foundation is a 501c3

 nonprofit organization helping 1,000 cancer patients in 33 Central Alabama counties. Every $1 donated to the Wellness Foundation is turned into $11.00 worth of services and products for cancer patients each year.
