Dothan, AL: Today the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) would like to make thepublic aware of important information regarding the bridge construction project located between Bauman Drive and Fortner Street on SR-210 (Ross Clark Circle).

On Wednesday February 10, 2016 at approximately 7:00 a.m. the inside loop (northbound lanes) will be reduced to one lane. This pattern will last until Friday February 12, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. At that time, both northbound lanes will be closed to through traffic.

We recommend travelers in the northern section of Ross Clark Circle utilize the eastern side not the western side when possible. Traffic traveling northbound on the west side of Ross Clark Circle (inside loop) will be required to detour at Hartford Highway. Motorists will be directed by visible signage along the route.

Businesses within the construction area will remain open. ALDOT and local officials have met with these businesses and informed them of our plans. We will remain in contact with them throughout this period. Access to this area will remain open and we encourage customers to continue to patronize these businesses.

The road closure of both northbound lanes will last approximately seven days. However, there is always a possibility of inclement weather or other unforeseen delays. We understand the importance of resuming traffic in the area as quickly as possible, and we will keep local officials, as well as the media informed of any change in plans.

All traffic control devices will be dedicated to alerting motorists of construction activities in the area. This construction project is utilizing a new technology called Accelerated Bridge Construction. Using standard construction, this area would have been permanently closed from nine to 12 months.

Traffic and construction monitoring is available at ww.DothanBridge.com . We also invite the public to provide feedback on this construction project, the new technology being utilized and our communication efforts by completing a one minute survey on our website.

While the bridge is being moved into place, there may be people who are interested in watching the new technology in motion. We recommend they do so through viewing the internet monitoring online as coming onto the site might increase traffic congestion. We also welcome the media to use these streaming feeds unrestricted on their broadcasts.
