This afternoon, a student reported a sexual abuse that occurred on the evening of Thursday, Sept. 24, in the vicinity of Gardner Hall on the Troy campus. This report was made to University Police on the afternoon of Sept. 25.
An active investigation is underway by Troy University Police who are looking for a black male who was dressed in all black with a hoodie on his head. Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call University Police at 334-670-3215. After hours, University Police may be reached through the City of Troy Police Department at 334-566-0500. Call 911 for any emergencies.
This is the third incident that has been reported to University Police in this area of campus, the first two being assault and robbery incidents in the front of Shackelford Hall.
Additions have been made to existing safety procedures and police patrols. Additional lighting has been installed and additional police presence and security patrols for the area have been instituted. On Monday, Sept. 28, University Police and student officials will conduct safety briefings on the campus.
