The Houston County Sheriff's Office has received numerous calls in reference to a scam connected to individuals supposedly having an outstanding warrant related to an arrest or failing to show up for court in Houston County.

The individual is stating that he is a Lieutenant Davis or David with the Houston County Sheriff's Office and that the situation of the outstanding warrant could be taken care of with a direct payment through a green dot card.

The only accepted form of payment for fines or court cost are either cash or money order (no other). If you have been approached for any other form of payment you should contact the Houston County Sheriff's Office.

The Houston County Sheriff's Office does not solicit payment on any court actions related to warrants.
