Dothan, Feb. 24, 2014:  The Dothan Civic Center box office is selling tickets for performances of The Drowsy Chaperone, coming to the Dothan Opera House March 11-15. This five-time Tony winning “musical within a comedy” is all about mix-ups, mayhem, and matrimony! The Drowsy Chaperone features some of the snappiest songs you’ve never heard, but you’ll be humming them as you leave the theatre. The show introduces some of the craziest characters you’ve never met, but you’ll recognize them all: the show-stopping star who’s ready to give up everything for love, the frantic producer desperate to prevent her marriage, two gangsters disguised as pastry chefs threatening his life, the Latin lover, the ditzy chorus girlfriend…all archetypes of a 1920s musical, played out in the apartment of a lonely theatre-lover through his favorite album. The Drowsy Chaperone presents one 90-minute act and is considered “PG.”

Tickets are available online at www.SEACT.com, or by contacting the Dothan Civic Center box office (334) 615-3175. The office is open 8:30 – 4:30 week days and located on the second floor of the Dothan Civic Center. Tickets are $18 for adults and $15 for students/seniors/military with ID. Performances are March 11 - 15. The Dothan Opera House opens each evening at 6:00 PM. Seating is available at 6:30 PM. Curtain is at 7:00 PM nightly and there is a 2:00 PM matinee on Saturday, March 15. Performances are 90 minutes with no intermission.
