UPDATED With Pictures Serious Accident On Springhill Road Near Eddins Road

HOUSTON COUNTY: At 4:34 AM Houston County Sheriff Communications rolled emergency units to reports of a serious/critical motor vehicle accident on Springhill Road near Eddins Road.
The accident involved one vehicle that was traveling towards Eddins Road and when they approached the curve on Springhill they did not curve. The vehicle went into the ditch and struck the embankment. There were two people in the accident.
The female driver was transported by Pilcher's Ambulance trauma alert to Flowers Hospital. A second Pilcher's Ambulance was called to transport the male patient, non emergency, to the hospital.
Responding to the scene were volunteer members of Hodgesville Fire Department. One member, Haisten Jenkins, is a Dothan Firemedic who volunteers his time to his community in the time of emergencies. Each volunteer is important to the community and they always rise to the needs of the community in fighting fires and dealing with medical emergencies in the community.
Also on the scene was Houston County Sheriff Deputy Lt. Ivey, Deputy Benton and Deputy Shaw .
Alabama State Troopers will investigate the accident. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident.
