Light to moderate rain will fall on-and-off leading up to the main event beginning on Tuesday when a large area of rain will spread north through the region dumping a little more than half of the totals in the figure. Tuesday night and Wednesday, a squall line will move through the area bringing a round of very heavy rain over a short duration. A flash flood watch is in effect area-wide Tuesday morning through Wednesday due to the short duration over which these amounts will accumulate.
Severe thunderstorms will be possible on Tuesday afternoon, primarily across north Florida. Expect storms to be scattered in nature and embedded within areas of rain. The primary threat will be tornadoes.
Tuesday night and into Wednesday, another round of severe storms will be possible as a squall line passes through the entire Tri-State region. The main threat area will be confined to the "Slight Risk" region depicted in the figure. The main threats will be damaging winds and tornadoes.
