Sheriff: Coroner stole prescription drugs from death scene

Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin said the county's coroner, Michael Head, has been charged with theft of prescription medication.
Head, 52, was arrested Tuesday night at his Gadsden home after authorities executed a search warrant on his property. He faces one count of second degree property theft and unlawful possession of a controlled substance, which was Ambien.
Entrekin said the search warrant came at Head's Mistletoe Hollow Road residence, along with a search of his Etowah County Courthouse office, after reports from citizens.
