Shooting In Walton County

At approximately 6:16 a.m., Walton County deputies responded to a possible domestic violence call at 202 Mack Edwards Road, Ponce De Leon. According to the caller, her nephew’s girlfriend contacted her and told her she needed help because her boyfriend had sustained a gunshot injury.

 

Upon arrival, deputies and EMS attended to both subjects. The male subject suffered from a gunshot wound to the face in the jaw area and the female had facial injuries. Both were transported by EMS to a local hospital where they are being currently being treated.

 

Investigators have been called out to assist in the investigation. It is still very early in the investigation and as more details become available, they will be released.

Update:

Female in this case, Lora Miller, has been arrested and charged on an unrelated incident. Miller was charged with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, a third degree felony. She was transported and booked into the Walton County Department of Corrections.

The investigation into the domestic altercation/shooting is still ongoing. No arrests have been made in the shooting at this time.
