Shooting Victim Attempts to Drive Self to Hospital, Suspect Still Sought

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that took place shortly before 7 p.m. today, July 27th, in a car parked at Oak and Inez Streets in the Sylvania Heights area. The victim attempted to drive himself to the hospital but stopped at the Kentucky Fried Chicken on Mary Esther Boulevard. He was flown by medical helicopter to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola. His injuries are serious but initial reports indicated they did not appear to be life-threatening.
