Single Vehicle Crash with Fatality

A single-vehicle crash at 1:40 a.m. today claimed the life of a Pike County man. The crash occurred just six miles southeast of Troy on County Road 2290. Nelson Junior Ownes, 40, of Glenwood was injured when the 1990 Ford Mustang  he was driving traveled off of the roadway and struck a tree. Ownes was taken to Troy Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead due to his injuries. No other information is available at this time as troopers are still investigating.
