DOTHAN POST – A single-vehicle crash at 8 a.m. today, Aug. 24, has claimed the life of a Kinston man and injured another. James Edward Jackson, 69, was killed when the 2016 Dodge truck he was driving left the roadway and overturned. Jackson, who was not using a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene by Coffee County Coroner Robert Preachers.
A passenger in the Dodge was transported to Flowers Hospital in Dothan for treatment of their injuries. The preliminary investigation indicates speed may have been a factor in the crash, which occurred on Coffee County 636, approximately six miles south of the Goodman community. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
