Upon arrival, patrolmen learned the assault was domestically motivated and involved a male suspect and a female victim with whom the suspect had a previous relationship with. As further information was developed, witness accounts indicated that both suspect and victim were inside of a motel room and that the victim was likely being held against her will. At 8:47 a.m. the victim was released without injury and the suspect was successfully detained by the Special Response Team. The Criminal Investigative Unit then took over the case and has now signed a warrant against the suspect for first degree kidnapping.
