Sneads Florida Man Arrested on Drug Charges

On Wednesday, September 10, 2014, the Jackson County Drug Task Force was conducting marijuana eradication efforts in the area of Sneads, Florida. During the operation a quantity of marijuana plants were observed in a wooded area behind a residence located at 2091 Kava Drive, near Sneads, Florida. Investigators then made contact with a male whom was in the driveway of the residence and identified him as Michael Henry Howell. During the contact, Howell told investigators that the marijuana plants that were planted behind the residence were his. It was determined that the residence where the plants were located belonged to Howell’s mother. Howell advised that he had planted the marijuana plants and has since tended them for some time. Investigators then seized that marijuana plants that had been observed and conducted a search of the wooded area adjacent to the residence where a total of 37 marijuana plants were seized. Investigators also located flower pots, water hoses, and fertilizer bags that are all commonly used in marijuana cultivation. At the conclusion of the investigation Michael Howell was placed under arrest and charged with violation of F.S. 893.13 Cultivation of Marijuana. Howell was lodged into the Jackson County Jail on the above charges.
