DOTHAN: This morning a student at Northside Methodist Academy was given a big surprise. Braidden Bagwell had not seen his dad in about 15 months as he was stationed overseas in Iraq, Afghanistan and just from Korea. Today was an emotional time for both father and son. With the help of the Dothan Fire Department and Northside Methodist Academy; Braidden was re-united with his father.
The deal was Dothan Fire Marshal Robert Herring and the guys from Dothan Fire Station 6 were there to do a fire safety lesson. Brandon was out fitted in full firefighting gear and kept hid until it was time.
Braidden was selected to come help teach the class, He was dressed in full firefighting gear without a breathing apparatus. Then his dad was brought out wearing all the gear and Braidden was asked to help get the firefighter out of his gear.
When Braidden realized the firefighter was his dad, he grabbed him and gave him a big hung. It was a nice surprise and emotional for everyone there.
