On February 8, 2016 the Enterprise Police Department received a report for a subject impersonating a Police Officer.  The victim advised EPD Detectives that on February 6, 2016, at 6:00 PM, she was driving on Damascus Road and was pulled over by an unmarked vehicle with blue lights.  The victim stated that a black male approached the driver side window of her vehicle and did not identify himself as a police officer.  The victim also reported that the subject did not provide any police credentials or badge during the encounter.  After a brief conversation, the suspect walked back to his vehicle and the victim drove away.

The EPD uses a number of unmarked vehicles for law enforcement operations.  EPD Officers will identify themselves with their name and rank when they make contact with the driver on a traffic stop.  EPD Officers are required to carry police identification and badge at all times while on duty.  If you are being pulled over by an unmarked vehicle and are not certain that the person is a police officer, please call 911 immediately.  The 911 Operator will be able to confirm the person stopping you is a law enforcement officer.  Additionally, we ask that you slow down, turn on your hazard flashers, and drive to a well-lit public area. The Enterprise Police Departments asks that residents utilize these steps if they find themselves in a similar situation.

The Enterprise Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID) is investigating this incident and asks that anyone with additional information to contact the Enterprise Police Department at (334) 347-2222 or leave us a tip at www.enterprisepd.com.
