DALE COUNTY - SOUTH END: Several years ago the City of Ozark went into the ambulance business. They were covering the south end of Dale County.
It was quickly determined that the City of Ozark was loosing piles of money. They pulled back and took care of the City of Ozark.
Dale County Commission Chairman Mark Blakenship and the Mayors of Pinckard and Midland City met in strategy sessions on what to do about the south end of Dale County.
They did nothing.
Dothan's Pilcher's Ambulance has been picking up the slack for the south end of Dale County. Without any financial assistance from Dale County, Pinckard or Midland City, Pilcher's has responded to calls in Dale County.
This morning a medical emergency in Pinckard has required Echo Rescue to travel from Highway 27 in Pinckard.
OKAY - the priority service for a town or government is people's welfare and safety. If you have a medical emergency, such as the Mayor or Chairman stops breathing, gentleman do you want to wait for the ambulance to respond from South Foster or Echo? No need for an ambulance, just call Woody!
NOTE: This was a generalized weakness call not a person not breathing.
But guess what, often times the not breathing is without warning.
CHAIRMAN - MAYOR'S - you have a responsibility to your people. You have dropped the ball. Blakenship - get off Sheriff Olson and the Dale County Sheriff Department long enough to solve a real problem.
