The Special Olympics Alabama State Summer Games will be held in Troy Alabama May 15-17, 2015 on the campus of Troy University. Opening Ceremonies will be held on Friday, May 15, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in the Trojan Arena. Zachary Grice, Special Olympics Alabama athlete of the year will run the Olympic torch into the ceremony to signify the beginning of the 2015 summer games. Dothan will be host to the cycling competition at the Peanut Festival Fairgrounds and Patricia Lanes will host Unified Bowling competition. Individual Bowling will be held at Brunswick Zone in Montgomery, AL. All other venues (aquatics, athletics, baseball, bocce, equestrian, flag football, golf, rhythmic gymnastics, powerlifting and softball will be held in Troy, Alabama. All competition will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2015.
