SpectraCare Health Systems, Coalition for a Drug Free Dale County, and students representing Dale County and Ozark City Schools will be hosting a Social and Community Norms Campaign unveiling event at Carroll High School on May 12, 2015 from 1:00 pm-1:30 pm. Students attending Dale County and Ozark City Schools have collaborated on the development of a Social and Community Norms Campaign that addresses underage drinking in Dale Count, with a focus on riding in a car with a drinking driver. The students created a slogan, posters, and public service announcements for radio and television.
SpectraCare Health Systems and the Coalition for a Drug Free Dale County were the recipients of the Strategic Prevention Framework-State Incentive Grant (SPF-SIG) for Dale County. Following a local needs assessment, a Social and Community Norms Campaign was chosen as a strategy to be implemented throughout the county. The groups chose to fund a campaign developed by the students of the local school systems.
