MONTGOMERY: State Senate Pro Tem Del Marsh describe the law enforcement consolidation as a savings of more than $ 30 million.
When the 12 law enforcement agencies were combined, Alabama Governor Robert Bentley appointed his good legislative buddy as the head man. His name is Spencer Collier.
Collier has made a disaster of the move to consolidate the agencies. It is just to large for a rookie law enforcement officer to manage.
But that has not stopped your Alabama Legislature and your Alabama Governor from rewarding Spencer Collier.
In fiscal year 2015, your legislature and your governor paid Spencer Collier $ 155,155.97 as head of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. That was $ 12,929.67 per month.
Based the Alabama Open Checkbook ( Jack S. Collier ) has been paid an average of $ 14,426.42 per month. With that calculations, Collier will receive an additional pay of $ 17,961.07 for the year 2016.
This pay increase, done under the radar, comes at a time when Collier has been closing driver license offices across this state. An effort to get the Alabama Legislature to give Alabama Law Enforcement more money.
This pay increase comes at a time when Collier holds press conferences around this state about how bad the financial condition in this state is and how it negatively impacts law enforcement.
I guess you are rewarded to be the Governor’s poster boy for more taxes!!!
And this pay increase comes after Collier had to take some time off. Because the stress of handling a job you are not capable of handling was to much.
Ask Paul Lee and see if he can answer that one?
When it takes FOREVER for a Trooper to get to your accident, when you can not get your driver license or service, just imagine what the employees are going through.
The Troopers are working with zero leadership in the head man job. It is not their fault. They are not getting the almost $ 20,000.00 per year raises.
And, Senator Marsh said there would be a $ 30 million dollar savings with the combination of the 12 agencies. Senator Marsh, where is it?
