Special prosecutor David Whetstone said today that moving the retrial of former Mobile County Commissioner Stephen Nodine could cost as much as $100,000, but he added that he respects the decision of Baldwin County Circuit Judge Charles Partin.

Partin on Wednesday agreed with defense arguments that there had been too much publicity about the murder and stalking charges against Nodine for him to get a fair trial in Baldwin County. He ruled that the trial will take place Sept. 10 in Dothan, the seat of Houston County in the Wiregrass.

A Baldwin County jury could not reach a unanimous verdict on those charges during the first trial in December 2010.
